Crisp nights beneath a toasty electric blanket,
visible breath expelled from cold-shocked lungs,
thick tights and wooly pullovers,
and running faster, farther than in dead of summer.
Bikes on a winter trek
to coffee and scones trailside.
My husband asks
doesn't my face hurt in this cold.
Yes, it hurts.
So much to love about winter.
